A multi-cloud is a strategic approach used by enterprises to optimize cloud networking to meet the enterprises’ end goals. The multi-cloud describes the use of a variety of clouds from different service providers. Each of those clouds delivers a specific application and as an added bonus each cloud can serve as a backup in case one of the other clouds is down. A multi-cloud can be comprised of a public, private, and hybrid clouds. It is often mislabeled as a hybrid cloud, but the multi-cloud is different. A hybrid cloud is an infrastructure while multi-cloud is a strategy.
