Dr. Lance A. Leventhal has been an independent consultant in the computer industry for over 35 years. He serves as Technology Editor for the ATCA Newsletter. He is the author of 25 books (that have sold over 1,000,000 copies) and 80 technical articles and the editor of over 50 other books. He has founded many conferences, including the Flash Memory Summit, Mobile Computing Summit, Open Server Summit, IMS Conference, Network Systems Design Conference (formerly Network Processors Conference), AdvancedTCA Summit, MicroTCA Summit, Ethernet Technology Summit, FPGA Summit, Gigabit Ethernet Conference, and Embedded Internet Conference. He currently serves as Program Chairperson for the Flash Memory Summit, Open Server Summit, and Ethernet Technology Summit. He is also a Series Editor in Programming and Software Development for Pearson/Prentice-Hall. He holds a BA in physics from Washington University (St. Louis, MO) and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Physics and Information Science from University of California at San Diego.
