Where is ATCA's place in an NFV world? The platform-level standard for telecom hardware is not made obsolete by NFV's use of standard chips; in fact, ATCA still has a strong role to play, contributor Keate Despain argues.
In his current role, Keate is responsible for managing the P&L for ATCA, COM Express, and legacy product lines. Prior to Radisys, Keate spent 12 years at Intel where he led various groups in the Embedded microprocessor group focused on the communications segment, embedded software, channel management and product marketing. He has also spent several years living and working in China. Keate has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Arizona State University and has extensive experience across the embedded and communications markets.
