New advances open the gate for SDN in the optical arena.
Edna Ganon has over 25 years of communications industry experience in technology management, engineering management and product management and development. In her current position, she initiates technology research, participates in the definition of project plans and roadmaps, influences product designs and guarantees that MRV’s roadmap meets future technology trends while having the potential to add value to the company. Ganon represents MRV in the ONF and ETSI-NFV industry associations.
Prior to her current position, Ganon served as Vice President of Technologies for MRV's product division during 2007 to 2010. In this position, she was responsible for the research of emerging technologies, and decision on their relevance to MRV. She represented MRV in MEF, IEEE and ITU standard bodies, and led some of MRV's new product designs and patents. From 1996 to 2007, Ganon served as Vice President of Engineering in MRV, where she managed the division's teams of hardware, software and validation engineers and was responsible for all MRV's Carrier Ethernet and optical transport products developed during that period. During the years 1991 – 1996, Ganon served in various engineering and product management positions at Fibronics, a pioneer in high-speed network equipment. Ganon holds a BSc from Technion institute, Israel.
