Ajay Malik, a 20-year veteran of wireless and IT infrastructure and the author of RTLS for Dummies, is responsible for the vision, WLAN solutions (including hardware, software development, system architecture, and quality assurance), and product strategy of Meru Networks. He has been instrumental in crafting the vision of Meru SDN Wi-Fi, which enables unified wired/wireless networks and empowers IT organizations to become more responsive to the needs of the business, as well as to more effectively manage their networks and deliver services.
Prior to joining Meru, Mr. Malik held leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard, where he was vice president of engineering, mobility solutions, and the HP Networking Group; and at Cisco’s Wireless Networking Group, where he was responsible for controller, management, and services functions across the wireless product portfolio.
Previously, he was head of engineering and advanced development in the Wireless LAN Division of Symbol Technologies/Motorola and championed Motorola’s foray into real-time Wi-Fi location. Mr. Malik holds a BE in computer science from IIT Roorkee (India) and more than 70 patents issued/pending in Wi-Fi, location, and management.
