VMware Commits to 205 Hires in IrelandVMware is the latest tech firm committing to boosting its presence in Ireland. It announced plans to hire 205 new employees in the Emerald Isle by 2025 and named an engineering executive to head up those efforts. The commitment comes in the shadow of Broadcom’s $69 billion acquisition of VMware.
The new hires will be focused on extending VMware’s work on multi-cloud platforms. Their work will be centered on VMware’s current presence in Dublin, though the vendor stated they will be offering remote work opportunities.
VMware named recently hired VP of Engineering Andrei Grigoriev to head up its team in Ireland. This will extend the reach of VMware’s CTO office headed by Kit Colbert and be in place to manage an in-country staff that will be in excess of 1,200 employees following the new hires.
Verizon Business Set for New LeadershipVerizon Business is primed for a leadership shakeup as a long-time executive is set to step aside to be replaced by a current revenue lead.

Sampath will replace long-time Verizon Business leader Tami Erwin, who will be moving to Strategic Advisor to Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg. Erwin’s new position is set to last until the end of the year, at which point she will be leaving the company.
Parallel Wireless Job Cuts Parallel Tough Open RAN MarketParallel Wireless has reportedly cut staff in a move that highlights the volatile nature of the current open radio access network (RAN) market.
The cuts were noted in a LinkedIn post by Eugina Jordan, who had been VP of marketing at Parallel Wireless and a big focus of that firm’s industry outreach.
In the post, Jordan cited “mass layoffs” across Parallel Wireless’ global operations. Parallel Wireless had not responded by press time to an SDxCentral request for more details, though a report from Light Reading noted as many as half of Parallel Wireless’ approximately 700 employees were impacted.
Jordan noted in her comments on the job cuts that “market conditions are horrendous right now,” and that “many tech companies are in the same boat.”
