Russian newspapers report Huawei is scaling back operations in the country to avoid U.S. sanctions.

Huawei supplies networking equipment, handsets, and more to the Russian market. According to Business Insider and Forbes Russia, Huawei is not taking new contracts and has furloughed employees working in the region through April.

The news follows similar announcements this week from Ericsson and Nokia. Intel announced it was pulling out of the country last week. More than 600 companies have stopped doing business with Russia according to data from Yale University’s School of Management. 

Open radio access network (RAN) architecture enjoys a simple premise with complicated caveats — ones that require an understanding or acceptance that not everything can be truly open in a wireless network environment.

While this seemingly contradictory admission might muddy the perception of what open RAN can deliver, it’s important for the industry to coalesce around actual outcomes and objectives, above platitudes and hype.

Vodafone announced Hannes Ametsreiter will step down from his role as CEO of Vodafone Germany. He will be replaced by Philippe Rogge.

Equinix promoted Tara Risser to president, Americas.

LastPass appointed Karim Toubba as CEO.

Arctic Wolf appointed Duston Williams as CFO.
