I am pleased to announce Dan Meyer has been promoted to editor-in-chief at SDxCentral and we have published our 2019 editorial calendar.
For those of you who are not aware, Dan joined SDxCentral in 2017 as a senior editor covering containers, Kubernetes, cloud native, microservices, serverless, open source, and 5G. Prior to joining us, he served as editor-in-chief at RCR Wireless.
In my conversations with Dan over the last few months, it became clear we are aligned about the future of infrastructure technology, how B2B media is evolving, and the vision for editorial’s role at SDxCentral going forward. At the same time, over the last six months, Dan has selflessly demonstrated the leadership traits that embody what I’ve been searching for in an editor-in-chief. This combination of shared vision, leadership, and experience makes Dan the ideal person to serve as our editor-in-chief.
SDxCentral 2019 Editorial Calendar
As we announced earlier, we’ve fully separated the sponsored content side of the business from the editorial side. This allows our editorial team to focus on delivering independent, top-quality editorial content. This year’s editorial calendar will feature four series written by our editorial team — all centered around challenges modern technology professionals face and the people and organizations attempting to solve those challenges.
Mobile World Congress Barcelona Preview and Focus on 5G
Mobile World Congress, Barcelona is one of the biggest events in technology with more than 2,400 participating companies and more than 100,000 attendees. Prior to the event, SDxCentral will report on the event’s likely hot topics with a particular focus on 5G. Our special coverage will continue after the event as we break down the big announcements and main takeaways from the conference.
The Most Important Open Source Projects in Infrastructure
Next-generation networking has grown up hand-in-hand with open source projects. As these projects move from early adopters to mainstream deployments, we’ll report on the most important and influential open source projects in infrastructure. Our coverage will tie into the many open source events occurring this time of year.
How Some Big Enterprises Have Updated Their IT
Throughout the summer, SDxCentral will touch base with large enterprises to report on how they have updated their IT infrastructures with new technologies in response to end-user demands. These profiles will examine what new technologies are being deployed, the motivations behind these changes, lessons learned, and roadmaps for the future.
A Look Back on the Year’s Top Influencers
To wrap up the year, SDxCentral will look back at the top influencers in next-generation infrastructure technologies. We’ll highlight the top vendors for technologies including SDN, NFV, 5G, hyperconverged infrastructure, SD-WAN, containers, and serverless. We’ll examine why the chosen vendors stood out from the pack.
In addition to the above series, we reevaluated our featured topics to give more coverage and prominence to emerging technologies intersecting with our traditional 5G, NFV, SDN, open source, and SD-WAN coverage areas. Expect to see more on cloud native, HCI, Kubernetes, microservices, security, and serverless computing and the impact they have on modern enterprises and service providers. To round out our industry coverage, our editorial team will attend more than 25 events through the course of the year. Request a media kit here for the detailed events calendar.
