World Wide Technology (WWT) has announced a new software coding assistant designed to enhance developer productivity and improve the efficiency of software development processes. This solution integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies from NVIDIA, Cisco, and Codeium, offering enterprises a range of tools to facilitate faster and more secure adoption of AI capabilities.
The AI coding assistant is part of WWT’s AI Proving Ground lab and, along with an AI chatbot and other tools, aims to streamline coding tasks and improve collaboration among development teams. Mike Taylor, WWT's CTO and Executive VP of Services, stated, “WWT is thrilled to unveil new AI capabilities, building upon our established AI offerings.”
According to Gartner, 75% of enterprise software engineers will utilize AI code assistants by 2028, a significant increase from the less than 10% reported in early 2023. WWT’s new coding assistant and its features are expected to address the integration challenges of coding assistants within the software development lifecycle and enhance security.
The partnership with NVIDIA, Cisco, and Codeium helps to streamline coding processes, leading to productivity improvements in composite tasks. WWT aims to bring these integrated solutions to the market in a scalable manner, potentially enhancing efficiency for users across diverse industries.
Justin Boitano, VP at NVIDIA, discussed the role of AI in enhancing productivity and enabling real-world applications. He highlighted how WWT is contributing to bridging digital and physical realms with AI technologies. This collaboration is seen as an effort to deliver tangible returns on investment for customers by enhancing deployment and utilization in enterprise settings.
