Versa has announced the general commercial availability of Versa Sovereign SASE, allowing enterprises, governments, and service providers to deploy customized networking and security services directly from their own infrastructure. This model is marketed as a “do-it-yourself” solution, created in response to the increasing need for control due to growing data privacy regulations and heightened security threats.

The new offering is aimed at providing several benefits, including greater privacy and control for organizations managing their network environment, and reduced risks associated with service disruption resulting from reliance on third-party platforms. Additionally, the air-gapped infrastructure aims to simplify compliance with evolving data security regulations.

Versa Sovereign SASE represents a third deployment option alongside as-a-service and private models, as it utilizes dedicated gateways on customers' infrastructure. This is intended to meet the demands of organizations in regulated industries requiring high levels of security.

Organizations such as national defense departments and financial services have begun adopting this model, and it is now available through Versa's partner network as well as directly from the company. This deployment model is expected to expand the total SASE market significantly.

Versa identifies that Sovereign SASE can enhance the offerings for managed service providers, enabling them to provide tailored network and security services using their infrastructure while maintaining control over critical compliance and operational processes.
