The ETSI Open Source MANO (OSM) elected Francisco-Javier Ramón Salguero of Telefonica as chairman of the group, and also elected Pål Gronsund of Telenor and Andy Reid of BT as vice chairs. Within two months, OSM will launch its Release 0, integrating the code base from Telefonica, RIFT.io, and Canonical.
KDU University College in Malaysia deployed networking from Brocade. The network is designed for cloud service access, whether from the university’s private cloud data center or public cloud service providers.
Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding with Netscout to allow Netscout’s platform to access Huawei operation support systems (OSS) interfaces. Huawei has previously signed MOUs with several independent service vendors within the OSS field.
Windstream deployed Infinera‘s Cloud Xpress to provide high-speed connections between data centers in Chicago. Windstream says it selected Infinera and several other technology partners to employ SDN for creation and management of optical services across its metro and long-haul transport network in 2016.
Nokia and Türk Telekom signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop 5G applications that will drive the Internet of Things (IoT). Türk Telekom will make its network infrastructure available to Nokia for real-time testing to accelerate the introduction of 5G in Turkey.
