A Nutanix and Intel partnership will see systems integrators and value-added resellers selling hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) with Nutanix’s enterprise cloud OS software running on Intel Data Center Block configure-to-order servers.
As part of this partnership, systems integrators (SIs) and value-added resellers (VARs) that are Authorized Nutanix Channel Partners will be able to brand and personalize Intel Data Center Blocks, packaging them with Nutanix software for individual customer deployments. The HCI products are verified by Intel and certified by Nutanix.
The partnership also allows the SIs and VARs to offer their own services on top of the branded servers while providing deployment, scaling, and support services.
Two Nutanix VARs — Arrow and Tech Data — will initially support the partnership. The joint products are available immediately in the Americas, and a worldwide launch will follow.
Phil Harris, GM of Intel’s data center solutions group, said the HCI products will help customers build new revenue streams.
The Intel partnership follows a strong earnings quarter for Nutanix and a new product launch: the long-awaited Xi Cloud Services.
Last week, Nutanix reported first quarter fiscal 2019 revenue of $313.3 million, a 13.7 increase year over year, which beat analysts’ estimates of $305.3 million.
It also debuted five cloud services: disaster recovery, a desktop-as-a-service platform, a multi-cloud cost comparison and governance tool, an observability and monitoring service for multi-cloud applications, and an edge computing platform.
