OCP Names Incubation Committee Leadership
The OCP Incubation Committee oversees the foundation’s work. It reviews submitted specifications and designs, advises on contribution guidelines and project scope, and helps set goals and direction for the group.
Anschutz is a distinguished member of the technical staff at AT&T and has served as the Telco Group’s IC lead at OCP for the past year. At AT&T, Anschutz has worked on various network and data center architectures, most recently on SDN and NFV.
Sullivan is the director of hardware engineering at Facebook and has held a number of leadership roles at OCP, including serving as a member of the IC since 2012. He has also worked at Rackspace, AT&T, and GE.
Cisco Sales Leader Departs
Alison Gleeson, senior vice president of sales for the Americas at Cisco, stepped down from her role, CRN reported. According to her LinkedIn profile, Gleeson has been with Cisco for 22 years. Gleeson will remain in her role until July 28.
She tweeted, “My advice throughout the years has always been ‘What really motivates you – what’s your passion? Do you truly love what you are doing?’ That is why I have chosen to follow my own advice, and seek out new adventures.”
Kip Compton, who was recently promoted to Cisco’s SVP and general manager of the company’s cloud platform and solutions business, has indicated the company wants its sales team to focus on newer cloud technologies. Compton said recently, “We’re still pivoting with our partners and our own sales force.”
HPE’s CMO Leaves
Gomez had been with the company for 20 years, serving in a number of executive roles and working closely with former HPE CEO Meg Whitman.
Movers and Shakers
Nokia appointed Sri Reddy as co-president of Nokia’s IP/Optical Networks business group and as a member of the Nokia Group Leadership Team. Basil Alwan is his co-president. Nokia also named Maria Varsellona as president of Nokia Technologies, in addition to her current role as chief legal officer. Former President of Nokia Technologies Gregory Lee is leaving the company.
Rackspace promoted Mark Bunting to the role of CMO.
Big Switch Networks made several new appointments to its executive team: Alan Hase to chief development officer and VP of engineering; Brant Kennedy to VP of worldwide sales; Derek Donahue to VP of sales America; and Dana Aiken to VP of sales strategy enablement and operations.
Former HPE EVP and GM Michael Nefkens was named president and CEO of Honeywell’s Homes business.
Pankaj Patel, formerly of Cisco, joined The Fabric’s advisory board.
Baidu’s COO Qi Lu, a former Microsoft executive, will step down in July. He will remain as the vice chairman of Baidu’s board of directors.
The Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN) appointed Jean-Charles Fahmy as CEO.
Moira Kilcoyne joined the Citrix board of directors. Kilcoyne comes from Morgan Stanley and IBM.
Gee Rittenhouse was named SVP and GM of Cisco’s security business group.
Kip Compton was promoted to SVP and GM at Cisco.
BT dismissed its CEO Gavin Patterson.
