F5 has introduced the VELOS CX1610 chassis and BX520 400-Gbps blade, designed to enhance support for AI applications within service providers and large enterprises. This high-performance addition to F5's VELOS product line facilitates scalable, reliable application delivery while optimizing performance and security.

The new VELOS hardware enables organizations to manage significant amounts of data traffic associated with AI deployments, addressing the need for advanced security and management solutions in complex environments. The CX1610 chassis provides up to 6 Tbps of throughput and offers robust features for 5G Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) services.

According to Maggie Stringfellow, VP and GM of BIG-IP at F5, the VELOS solution simplifies the integration of AI into existing systems, enabling seamless operations while balancing performance and security. It integrates load balancing, meets 5G workload requirements, and is capable of handling billions of concurrent connections.

The release includes provisions for enhancing security against various threats, including distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks and other vulnerabilities through integrated F5 security services. With the VELOS system, organizations can expect improved efficiency in managing their applications and security services, alongside reduced deployment times in hybrid environments.

Availability of the VELOS systems is anticipated to expand in the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, allowing organizations to implement these advancements as they adapt to increasing demands from AI and data-intensive applications.
