Bedford, Mass.-based service assurance monitoring company Empirix underwent rigorous interoperability testing to certify two of its monitoring products with Huawei.
Huawei has certified Empirix IntelliSight and E-XMS with its FusionSphere cloud operating system. IntelliSight is the monitoring company’s software platform that collects data and provides real-time insight to end-users. E-XMS is its service assurance monitoring technology.
Customers of Huawei’s virtual architecture can now choose to deploy Empirix monitoring tools in their evolved packet core networks. The tools enhance data acquisition and mediation, troubleshoot network issues, and provide real-time data analytics.
This also allows for Empirix to sell through Huawei’s NFV and SDN platform and across its evolved packet core networks. Only products and companies that have completed the interoperability testing are made available to the Chinese provider’s resellers.
Empirix IntelliSight is a single software platform that enables pre-configured analytics packages to explore traffic data in a variety of use cases, inncluding financial, healthcare, retail, and utilities cases. It aggregates data from multiple sources to provide insight on customer behavior, network performance, and business operations.
The monitoring company’s E-XMS are stateful machines that can decode and analyze both wireless and wired protocols. It uses high-capacity probes and deep pack inspection (DPI) to monitor and analyze these real-time transport protocol (RTP) streams. The data is used to create a rich application and service detail record that end-users can use to diagnose and solve network problems.
Earlier this year, Empirix’s virtual multi-service probe (vMSP) also received certification within Telefonica’s UNICA environments.
