Brocade today announced new visibility products to provide its mobile operator customers with additional monitoring tools as they transition to more software-based networks. The Brocade visibility product, includes both hardware and software, will deliver a scale-out architecture that supports 100 million subscribers per packet core, Brocade says.
The new tools include a family of hardware packet brokers — the MLXe and ICX — to address the wide range of density, performance, and programmability needs of Tier-1 mobile operators.
In addition, Brocade visibility product is offering a virtual packet broker for the virtual evolved packet core (vEPC), offering real-time programmability.
The new Brocade session director provides software-based separation of mobile control flow processing in the network.
Finally, virtual packet probes decode and reduce mobile bearer and control traffic to extract and deliver metadata required for network monitoring.
The visibility products can all be viewed through a single management application for both physical and virtual packet brokers, and open APIs allow third-party integration. Initial third-party vendor partners are Viavi Solutions (the former JDSU), EMC, Guavus, and Avvasi.
