Booz Allen Hamilton has announced that Cisco has completed its acquisition of SnapAttack, a cybersecurity company that Bozo Allen spun out in 2021. Booz Allen continued to invest in SnapAttack after the spinout.
SnapAttack was created to assist clients in addressing cybersecurity gaps and staying ahead of new threats. It was launched publicly by Booz Allen's DarkLabs, which focuses on cybersecurity operations, in 2020. This initiative combined Booz Allen’s technology capabilities with commercial partnerships, positioning SnapAttack for growth.
Booz Allen's support for SnapAttack enabled the delivery of advanced cyber capabilities for various national security missions. The spinout included a dedicated technical team and aimed at fostering community collaboration around threat intelligence and detection analytics.
“We spun out SnapAttack because we believe in the power of dual-use technology to speed outcomes,” said Booz Allen CFO Matt Calderone. “When great products scale in the commercial market, their benefit expands across our government missions as well. This is an excellent outcome for all involved, and we look forward to continuing to work with the SnapAttack team.”
