Telco NFV is all about virtualizing various telecom applications and finding a way to deploy them simply on servers in any data center. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it can be, but there are several factors to weigh, the most crucial being seamless connectivity between the telecom operator’s IP/MPLS network and the cloud.
In this special DemoFriday with Ericsson, presenter Francois Lemarchand, Ericsson’s director of strategy and business development, will focus on this essential interconnection. The presentation will show how to link the virtual network functions (VNFs) to the existing IP/MPLS infrastructure to extend encapsulation all the way up to the virtual machines (VMs) that operate using different VNFs. In the demo, we’ll see how this can be done using MPLS over GRE between the DC gateways and with the help of vSwitch to connect the VMs.
