Monday, October 12th – ONF’s Euro-Summit Workshop
Software-defined networking (SDN) is rapidly evolving and gaining momentum around the globe and the Open Networking Foundation (ONF) continues to lead the way in SDN standardization, promotion, and adoption for open SDN. Since the success of last year’s World Congress, the ONF has grown considerably, network functions virtualization (NFV) has emerged as a top initiative among carriers, while OpenFlow and OpenDaylight have continued to mature. While the industry focus over the past couple years has been “Why?”, the focus is rapidly shifting towards “How?”
The Euro-Summit workshop, will kick off the ONF/SDN Workshop with the Executive Director of the ONF, Dan Pitt, inspiring attendees with ONF’s vision, its role in the emerging SDN Ecosystem, and the progress towards the goal of changing the world with SDN. In the live stream:
- Forward-thinking ONF members will share network operator driven use cases for a range of network operators spanning major carriers to the Data Center
- You’ll get a glimpse of selected ONF member startups and why multi-player control is important
- ONF will examine how SDN and NFV are transforming how standards will be adopted in future networks and open source software’s role in that future
Tuesday, October 13th – Plenary Sessions & the NFV Forum
The first part of the Tuesday’s live stream will cover the Plenary sessions in which the reality of SDN and NFV will be examined under a microscope – what’s the current state of SDN after a year of continued market initiative, alignment, and development? What practical steps have been taken in networks, how has customers’ thinking evolved – and how far have the solutions developed?
After the Plenary session has concluded, the second half of Tuesday’s live stream will break off into the NFV Forum which will gather senior leaders from across the spectrum to act as a reference point, examine progress to date, and map out milestones for the coming year. Watch the panel discussion of high level executives discuss, debate, and take action towards the future prospects and NFV transformations.
