Join us for our next DemoFriday™, when Pluribus demonstrates Netvisor, its bare-metal, distributed network hypervisor OS. Netvisor is built with a converged architecture combining merchant silicon-based switching and open source-powered compute. This fundamental change in the control plane enables a new class of programmable network services and applications.
Pluribus believes that for networking to join the modern world, it needs to move from a hardware-based, fixed-feature-set model to one in which an operating system controls the network switch. Netvisor is based on enterprise-class UNIX and Linux operating system technology, and it is enhanced through the addition of switch-chip virtualization and distributed clustering technologies. The demo and presentation will cover:
- The unique capabilities of the Pluribus Netvisor cluster fabric, which allows the entire fabric to be managed like a single switch
- OpenStack provisioning. The hardware architecture of the Pluribus Freedom series allows both OpenStack controller and client to run on the same converged device, increasing responsiveness and performance while reducing network complexity.
- Pluribus Netvisor’s deep analytic capabilities. Unlike more limited, expensive traditional approaches to analytics, Pluribus enables deep analytics in-network, delivering fine-grained visibility and control throughout the fabric without external taps or software agents.
Join the following Pluribus presenters as they demonstrate how Netvisor extends network intelligence from top-of-rack into the rack and creates a richly programmable application fabric:
- Dave Ginsburg, CMO
- Prashanth Prahalad, software architect
