This is the second installment of The Open Networking Foundation (ONF)’s webinar series focusing on the hottest topics in software-defined networking (SDN). You can see the recordings from the first webinar in the series here.
How do you maximize provisioning with transport SDN? This question and similar ones will be the focus of the panel discussion during the second installment of ONF’s webinar series on the hottest SDN topics. Join the December 2, 2015 event to hear the below panelists live:
Since SDN expanded to service providers’ transport networks, more opportunities have been created. Opportunities such as increased flexibility in traffic management and the time saved in doing so are undeniable and greatly appreciated by many. In the past years, ONF has been working with organizations like OIF on:
- The standardization of SDN interfaces in networks
- The extension of SDN control to optical equipment
- Opening APIs to applications
OIF, in collaboration with ONF, is addressing other components of the “toolbox” for SDN deployment. Such components include carrier requirements and interoperability testing between vendors. To that regard, OIF’s toolbox for service provider SDN deployment and operation will be featured in the webinar.
This event will cover several topics pertaining to transport SDN for optical networks, like key interfaces for interoperability, as well as northbound and southbound interfaces and transport API specifications. A carrier perspective will also be reflected as thought leaders enlighten us on what it takes to make SDN more widely deployable in the service provider network.
This webinar will cover the work on SDN for optical networks and will map out the steps for the joint inter-operability testing of SDN. Network and infrastructure architects, application developers and engineers will particularly find this event useful.
We look forward too seeing you on Wednesday, December 2nd at 10:00am PT for the next installment of the ONF “Hot Topics in SDN” webinar series on SDN for optical networks!
If for some reason you cannot make it to the live event, go ahead and register anyway. We’ll notify you when the event recording and other assets are available.
