Since its initial deployment just over 18 months ago, OpenDaylight has seen more than a 300 percent increase in contributor participation. From 154 contributors from its first release, Hydrogen, the platform now has well over 500 active contributors from more than 40 member companies in its third release, Lithium. As it continues to gain momentum, it’s no wonder OpenDaylight has quickly become known as a leading open source platform for constructing programmable software-defined networks.
On the heels of the SDxCentral SDN Controller Report, OpenDaylight major contributor Brocade gives us a closer look at the project and what’s next for the leading open source controller, as well as what the recent developments means for end-users looking to deploy SDN solutions. Watch the Brocade OpenDaylight Webinar Video as they showcase the important milestones from the third release of OpenDaylight, such as:
- Increased scalability and performance
- New features for security and automation
- New and enhanced APIs for interoperability
- Six new protocols to support an increased demand
- Network services for cloud data center platforms
Brocade will also discuss how and why OpenDaylight’s users are utilizing the platform and what the Project needs to focus on for Beryllium, its upcoming software release.
