The Open Networking User Group (ONUG) just announced an exciting Town Hall Meeting Panel slated for ONUG Fall 2014. ONUG has invited leading CTOs to join their meeting on October 28-29 at Credit Suisse in New York City. These CTOs will be participating in the panel to address how their respective companies have responded to and are operationalizing the new ONUG Use Cases, which will be announced at the meeting.
The distinguished list of those serving on the panel include:
- Ken Duda, CTO and SVP Software Engineering at Arista Networks
- Tom Edsall, CTO Insieme Business Unit at Cisco
- David Meyer, CTO and Chief Scientist at Brocade
- Sunil Khandekar, CEO and Founder of Nuage Networks
- Guido Appenzeller, CTO Networking and Security at VMware
The panel discussion will be moderated by Greg Lavender, CTO of Cloud Architecture and Infrastructure Engineering at Citigroup.
The formation of this panel is in-line with its charter of being a user-led organization whose Board of Directors is composed of senior IT executives from Bank of America, GAP, JPMorgan, FedEx, Fidelity, Citigroup, Pfizer, Credit Suisse, Cigna, Symantec, and UBS. While the panel is made up of vendors, they will be focused on their responses to the market requirements and use cases set by the user community. With 2015 coming up as the year where users move from running limited proof-of-concepts to deploying SDN and Open Networking products in production, the panel discussion comes at a most opportune time.
Come attend and find out if the vendors will meet the challenge that ONUG has set out for open networking, including 25 – 75% lower CapEx, 15-30% lower OpEx, and elimination of vendor lock-in.
Along with the panel, other companies will showcase how they will put the open networking market requirements into action include: Big Switch Networks, Cloudgenix, Dell, Glue Networks, Intel, NEC, Pluribus Networks, Silver Peak, vArmour, Versa Networks, Viptela, and VSSMonitoring.
All attendees at ONUG Fall 2014 will have the unique opportunity to influence the ONUG Use Cases and the vendors who will deliver products. To learn more about all of the speakers and demonstrators for ONUG Fall 2014, visit the ONUG website and register today!
