SDNCentral is excited to welcome Brocade as the newest vendor to join our network of SDNChannels — portals dedicated to company-specific software-defined networking (SDN) products, projects, and technologies. As cloud computing and virtualization shake up old networking paradigms, the Brocade channel aims to help organizations turn networks into platforms for innovation.
Brocade believes SDN and network functions virtualization (NFV) can help operators do a better job of powering the products and services they have now as well as create opportunities for new products and services down the road. But predicting the networking needs of future products and services is a major challenge, which is why Brocade advocates networks based on open standards and hardware interoperability.
The Brocade channel provides information to help operators smooth the transition to SDN and NFV, and figure out how to use the technologies to leverage existing infrastructure. The channel features educational SDN/NFV videos, white papers, blog posts, and resources on the Brocade Vyatta Platform, the company’s first step in creating a modular and open networking platform for cloud and telecommunications service providers.
Current channel highlights include:
- Article: “Brocade’s Master Plan Foresees SDN & NFV Layers Mashing Together”
- Videos on trends in SDN and NFV and what the trends mean for networks
- Vyatta vRouter for Cloud Computing data sheet
- vADX and vRouter solution brief
- Blog posts
- Links to DemoFridays, our presentations of working SDN/NFV products
Educational content on the SDNChannels is designed to benefit not only those interested in vendor-specific information, but also the wider SDNCentral community as a whole. We encourage you to keep educating yourself about different offerings and perspectives on SDN, and check back here often for other Brocade offerings that focus on consolidation, network convergence, virtualization, and cloud computing.
