Network Virtualization. Many are voyeuristically watching those built with less risk-averse DNA embrace, implement and experience it. Various vendors are selling software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), and network virtualization, with the promise that virtualizing the network is where you should be headed and that your journey towards the changeover should start today. Is this revolution toward network virtualization a “pie in the sky” concept? I think not.
I’m biased, however. The entire premise of virtualization and “software-defined everything” (I can see some of you punching the wall at the simple sight of this buzz phrase) makes sense to me. I’ve seen it birthed when I was just a pup … and watched it take over from a superficial level. The more I learn about network virtualization and SDN from the inside — meaning from the eyes of those who design architecture, those who innovate, and most importantly, from the eyes of those who are in the position to drive the future of their companies’ architectures, the more I know these solutions are the future.
I can tell you that attending webinars like this one, while they are still complimentary, is exactly what those who are on the edge of the network looking in and tentative about joining the next step in software infrastructure should be doing.
So, here is what I propose.
Join two experts in the field this Thursday (10:00 a.m. PST) and get a crash course on what leading companies are doing in the network virtualization space and how they are benefiting. Tomorrow, Houman Modarres, senior director of marketing at Nuage Networks, and Roy Chua of SDNCentral will discuss the following essentials:
- Why network virtualization?
- Business problems network virtualization solves
- Relationship of network virtualization to SDN and NFV
- Benefits of network virtualization
- Pros and cons of different network virtualization approaches
- Key attributes in evaluating network virtualization solutions
All webinar attendees will receive a complimentary custom version of the report that includes the answers to many of these topics and a detailed profile of one of the vendors, Nuage Networks.
This webinar and the custom report are sponsored by Nuage Networks.
Register today and join me for this valuable webinar.
