Introducing the “Hot Topics in SDN” webinar series, sponsored by the Open Networking Foundation (ONF).
ONF is kicking off its first webinar in a series of webinars that will highlight the latest trends and topics in software-defined networking (SDN). You won’t want to miss the first installment on September 30th when our presenters tackle intent driven networking and northbound interfaces.
What is intent driven networking? Well, that’s something that will be covered in this unmissable panel discussion with some of the top thought leaders in SDN. Our presenters will dive into this hot new topic and discuss what it is and why it’s important for the industry. They will also cover significant milestones, how to get involved, and what to look out for in the next six to 12 months.
Intent-driven networking has received a considerable amount of buzz lately among leading technology vendors. Almost all major vendors are contributing to top open source projects, including the recent efforts of the Network Intent Composition group. Our seasoned panel members, led by moderator Roy Chua, will weigh in on September 30th at 10:00 am PT. The panel includes:
- David Lenrow: An architect in the CTO office of HP Networking, David is on the Technical Steering Committees for both OPNFV and the OpenDaylight Project, and is the chairman of the ONF Northbound Interface Working Group. With over 20 years experience in the networking, storage, and media industries, David is also involved in the OpenStack and Open Compute Project communities.
- Fabian Schneider: NEC’s senior researcher and ONF’s deputy area director of the services area, Fabian’s work targets network and cloud management. He has been active in ONF since 2012, working on projects including SDN architecture, intent and northbound interfaces, OpenFlow protocol development, and hybrid considerations.
- Pascal Menezes: Microsoft’s principal program manager in Lync and Skype Partner Engineering, Pascal also acts as vice-chair for the ONF Northbound Interface Working Group. He has held various other executive positions in his 30 years of networking experience. He also acts as an advisor to the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) board of directors.
