To respond to changing demands and emerging competitors, communications service providers must to be able to quickly deliver new services and generate new revenues. Network functions virtualization (NFV) can help providers develop and launch services faster, easier, and at lower cost – but providers need the ability to leverage the technology without vendor lock-in. An upcoming webinar with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Intel will discuss how an expansive, open NFV ecosystem speeds services deployment and facilitates network transformation.
Industry estimates suggest monthly global mobile data traffic will surpass 15 exabytes by 2018 – that’s 10 times the mobile data consumed on the network at the end of 2013. With traditional solutions too complex and costly to handle this impeding demand, Intel and HPE are working together and with other partners to develop solutions that move away from the old architecture of vertically integrated hardware and software, and accelerate industry adoption of NFV and software-defined networking (SDN).
Presenters from HPE and Intel will look at how open-source, standards-based NFV enables providers to respond to market demands more quickly and make the transition to NFV as efficient as possible. They will look at how the HPE OpenNFV program and Intel Network Builders are working collectively and with joint partners to build a robust ecosystem of vendors whose products work well together.
The HPE OpenNFV Partner program integrates third-party technologies to provide a strong backbone for an open, flexible ecosystem that gives providers the freedom to choose the best applications to help them serve their customers. HPE OpenNFV also provides a reference architecture and global network of labs to help bridge IT and provider networks through virtualization and open-source cloud solutions.
The Intel Network Builders program connects service providers and end users with the infrastructure, software, and technology vendors driving new solutions to the market. The program offers technical support, matchmaking, and co-marketing opportunities to help facilitate joint collaboration from the discovery phase to the eventual trial and deployment of NFV and SDN solutions.
Register for the webinar on April 28th at 10:00am PT, and learn how HPE and Intel are working closely with vendor partners to bring NFV solutions together and build a strong and sustainable market advantage for their members through ecosystem collaboration.
If you can’t make it to the live event, register anyways. SDxCentral will let you know when the recorded presentation is available on-demand.
