Developing Your SDN Strategy: What To Do with SDN in 2013, a Fireside Chat with Doug Gourlay from Arista Networks
In this week’s fireside chat with Arista Networks, SDNCentral’s Matt Palmer and Arista Networks Vice President of Marketing Doug Gourlay talk about how to map out your company’s SDN strategy in the coming year. The video is the second in a series that addresses some of the SDN questions we most often hear.
Today’s incredible developments in SDN and networking are spurring many people to look closely at how they would implement SDN in their own data centers and networks. People research which architectures would be best, or which controller they should consider. The questions are good ones, Palmer and Gourlay say, but IT decision-makers first need to back up, put their engineer hats back on, and understand exactly what they’re trying to accomplish before figuring out the appropriate architecture or materials.
Until recent years, the past decade has not been a time of huge network innovation. Now, people are changing the infrastructure in completely new ways, creating new capabilities that can help you solve new business problems and challenges in your organization, or solve long-existing problems and challenges in more effective or efficient ways.
