DemoFriday™: Firewalls in the Data Center
Join us as Kulin Shah and Mickey Stewart, two Arista network systems engineers, demonstrate the building of a data-center firewall service based on Palo Alto Networks gear and connected to Arista 7050 top-of-rack switches.
The demo will show off the use of OpenFlow in a VMware VXLAN environment, connecting virtual machines to remote users. The demo will also show the setup and configuration of DirectFlow, the 7050’s flow-handling feature. DirectFlow will be used for load balancing, and by incorporating it, Shah and Stewart will be highlighting the advantages of the programmable data plane enabled by Arista’s EOS operating system.
Finally, a tool from Splunk will be used for visualizing and troubleshooting the network.
Join us for this demo about a real-world use case of OpenFlow tied to network security. “Building Secure, Scalable VXLAN Data Center Networks With Arista, Palo Alto Networks And Splunk” will be webcast live this Friday, July 12, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
