No, your eyes do not deceive you! Our SDxCentral homepage has changed radically and it’s not caused by malware on your browser.
Over the past couple of years, the growth of our reader base, coupled with the industry moving towards SDx (software-defined everything) infrastructure as the new foundation for enterprise and service provider applications, led to an explosion of news and content on the site. As our editorial team of Sue, Craig, Linda and Wyatt (and other contributors) continue to generate high-quality insightful coverage of the space, we realized that our old homepage design would no longer be adequate.
As further proof of the need for a new SDxCentral homepage design, top on the feedback list from our readers was better organization of the content on our site, so it didn’t look so busy. In addition, we wanted to establish a better page framework that would accommodate a much larger number of articles. No different from scaling SDx infrastructure–we needed a foundation that provided better horizontal and vertical scalability!
The new SDxCentral homepage allows you to quickly jump to the section of interest to you. Whether it’s news from the editorial team, insightful analysis from Scott and his analyst team, opinions or the latest sponsored content (which on our site tends towards educational more than marketing), you’ll find the sections easily accessible via the in-page floating navigation. The new design also nicely dovetails with the recent upgrades we made to navigation. And for those of you who view our site on your mobile devices, you’ll find that the responsive design adapts well to all the popular phones and tablets out there.
As always, with all new designs, we expect that there will be corner cases that we need to fine-tune. If you have issues with the new homepage, please let our team know at firstname.lastname@example.org. And our product team always welcomes feedback at email@example.com.
And a huge thank you to you, our reader. We appreciate your continued support of our site!
