When we launched SDNCentral at the beginning of this year, we had no idea our little resource site would grow to include such a wide range of SDN technologies, companies, open-source projects, products and services, and more recently, APIs. We know that many in the community have come to depend on our directories and we appreciate and thank you for your support!
However, as the list of products continued to grow, we’ve realized that continually updating a static page would soon be infeasible–Matt, Jocelyn and I only have so many hours in a day. We’ve therefore made a significant investment in the site’s backend databases, to expand our self-service directory to cover not just companies, but also products and services.
With the launch of our new product directory service, companies can now self-manage new products and services, and our very popular announced and shipping product pages will automatically update themselves with new entries. Of course, we’ll continue to review submissions and additions for accuracy and relevancy, but now the community can help keep all of us updated on your respective company’s products and services. Just by listing your companies and products, you can get benefits of additional visibility with the community, not to mention potential SEO benefits on search engines. For companies that are looking to self-manage their pages, or just to get listed, please contact us.
If you are looking to promote your products or companies on the site, please check out our services, both free and compensated (and help us defray the costs of running and developing the site).
Over the next month, we’ll leverage the database-backed systems to provide more convenient viewing of products, and continue to expand the entries in the database. Our goal is to create the most comprehensive and up-to-date directory of SDN companies as well as SDN-related products and services. And we’d like your help in doing so, so please reach out to us!
